Building Your Bedroom
Tent and/or shelterselectionrequires careful consideration as the central structure of your campsite. Whilethere’san obvious limit to the amount of warmth a tent offers during the winter, choosing a two or three-seasonoptioninstead of a four-season will mean lots of chilly nights. Instead, turn to options like the Land Lock, designed foryear-round use. It offers snow and mudflaps to keep moisture out. Its spacious interior has room for sleeping and gathering, so you can enjoy sheltered comfort in any inclement weather. For winter camping trips, the ground sheet and mat area must, offeringadditionalprotectionfrom the damp and cold.
The Basics
Once you have your shelterestablished,it’stime to consider the bare minimum for a restful space.A good night’s sleep in the great outdoors starts with a sleeping bagappropriate forthe temperature. Quite simply: this is non-negotiable. An improper sleeping bag is at best a chilly night’s sleep and atworst, unsafe.Add further insulation from the ground with an inflatable sleeping mat and pillow. If you run cold, bringan extra blanket or two to tuck into your sleeping bag, plus woolsocksand a beanie.
